Tips for a successful industrial move
Industrial relocation, a complex undertaking.
Are you about to move a machine, a production line, or maybe even a whole factory? To another hall on your site? To another factory site? Or to a customer? Whatever the reason, an industrial relocation is a complex and time-consuming undertaking.
If things don't go according to plan, you'll face damage, delays and all sorts of extra costs.
You can avoid many relocation problems by being well prepared and making the right choices in advance. In this article, you will find a few tips that can help you successfully carry out your industrial relocation.
Draw up a good industrial relocation plan.
It is important to draw up a solid industrial relocation plan and to prepare the industrial move step by step. Start working on your relocation plan on time. It all depends on the complexity of your industrial removal.
Every industrial relocation plan starts with a timetable in which every step is described from beginning to end. Plan each step of the move in detail. Start with the date you need to finish the move and run through the steps backwards. Which items need to be installed first? Which items need to be moved last? Which items require the most time to pack and load? In what order should you move equipment and materials? What tools, transport equipment and assistance do you need?

Be sure to have the right transport packaging for your industrial equipment.
Does your installation need protection during transport? How should you pack the goods? Where can you carry out the packaging? Which packing materials and tools do you need? Maybe you want to pack your machines and materials yourself? Then watch out. Packaging is more complex than you might think. The packaging must protect your installations and ensure smooth and safe transport and handling. There are several aspects to take into account, such as movement and vibrations during transport, temperature, humidity and much more.
If parts of your industrial equipment are damaged during transport, you lose time and money on additional repairs or replacement of parts of the equipment. If the packaging is not properly done, your cargo can be stopped during transport and export, again resulting in delays and fines.
You can work with a packaging expert who designs the packaging and transport boxes and who can supervise the packaging process. This can be basic wooden crates, packaging for transport by sea container, or a tailor-made packaging solution specifically for your needs. It all depends on the equipment to be moved and the transport route. With the right choice of packaging and a well-executed packaging process you minimize costs, loss of time and risk of damage.
